Blurry vision, aching chest
feeling tired, excessive rest
Long drawn sigh, curtains shut
daylight hidden, walls built up.
Won't eat can't sleep, weary head,
no motivation, stay in bed,
TV on, muted sound
baby crying, forced around.
Train station now, in my mind,
kissing hard, play-back rewind.
Clasping hands, footfall light
only time it felt right.
Back in room, numb, dark,
heavy limbs, restless walk
overwhelming, pieces broken
too late now, farewell spoken.
